Rev. Joe Robert (Bob) Elkins 80 years of age passed away Wednesday March 14, 2007 at his residence in Stringtown, WV. Born December 27, 1926 in Pike County KY, he was the son of the late Rail and Lydia Elkins. He was a retired coal miner, but more importantly he was a faithful Christian and Pastor of the Church of the Lord Jesus in Jolo, WV. He is gone but never forgotten by all his family and many friends. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Elkins. Two brothers Rufus Elkins and Dave Elkins. One sister, Lorene (Dutch) Street. Two nephews Ray Street and Paul Street. Three step-daughters Columbia Hagerman, Pearl Evans, and Lucille Church. Two step-sons, Ballard ?Esaw? Chafin and Herbert ?Bobie? Chafin. Four grandchildren Beverly Evans, Deana Evans, Jack Evans, and Brenda Cline. One great-grandchild Daniel Ray Webb. He is survived by his wife Alline Elkins of the home. One daughter Lydia Elkins Hollins of Cedar Bluff, VA. One step-son Dewey Chafin of Jolo, WV. One step-daughter Hope Endicott of the home. Two nephews Michael Street of Jolo, WV, and Butch Street of VA. Two cousins Paul Powell of Princeton, WV, and Irene Bowen of Princeton, WV. Rev. Elkins was also blessed with twenty one grandchildren, thirty seven great-grandchildren, and twenty great-great grandchildren. He was also blessed with many brothers and sisters in the Lord and friends. Special Friends Connie and Ryan Blankenship of Raysal, WV, Sadie Jones of Jolo, WV and Connie and Don Reed of Roderfield. Funeral services for Rev. Joe Robert (Bob) Elkins will be conducted Saturday March 17, 2007 at 12:00 Noon at the Church of Lord Jesus at Jolo, WV, with Rev. Kirby Hollins, Rev. Tommy Addair and Rev. Pete Woods officiating, with burial to follow in the Chafin Cemetery at Jolo, WV. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearer will be RC Cole. Friends may call at the church on Friday after 6:00 p.m. where evening service will be held at 7:00 p.m. The family of Rev.
